On the 26th of May, all the members of the Consortium participated in the Methodological Lab hosted by the Moulay Ismail University in Meknès (Morocco). This was the first step on the new phase of the CONNEKT project, which focuses on investigating violent extremism processes at the individual level. At this stage, the research will not only focus on the point of view of personal values and beliefs, but it will also take into account processes of primary and secondary socialization that influence the individual.
The attendees jointly designed the questionnaires that will make up 8 national youth survey campaigns that will be launched later on. The results of these surveys are meant to be crucial to discern the weight that different factors related to intimate or broad social environments have in the individual dynamics that potentially lead to violent extremism. Ultimately, this key work will help to verify, discard, or refine patterns, contexts, and drivers identified throughout the research conducted so far at the Macro and Meso level.
On the 27th of May, a public event was held at the University Moulay Ismail to present the CONNEKT project, which was broadcast live on our You Tube Channel.
