Aware of the need to bridge science and policy-making, the Horizon 2020 sister projects CONNEKT, PAVE and PREVEX organised a Science-to-Policy meeting at the European Parliament to discuss with EU policy officers on the issues tackled by these projects (radicalisation, violent extremism, and prevention in MENA and the Balkan regions), cross-regional trends and the implications for the European Union.

The event was hosted at the European Parliament by Ernest Urtasun, Member of the European Parliament; Vice-Chair, Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance, and moderated by Roger Albinyana, Managing Director of the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).

The meeting included the participation of representatives of the three projects:  Morten Bøås, PREVEX’s Scientific Coordinator and Professor at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, Norway; Johanna-Maria Hülzer, Junior Project Manager at the Berghof Foundation and member of the PAVE project, and Lurdes Vidal, CONNEKT’s Scientific coordinator and Director of the Arab and Islamic World Department at the IEMed.
