A discussion in Brussels about the impact on radicalisation of the war in Ukraine
A discussion in Brussels about the impact on radicalisation of the war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine has had many spillover effects that range from higher energy prices to food insecurity. One of these is the risk of exacerbating the existing political and ethnic divisions in the Balkans, which could contribute to violent extremism.

To what extent does the war in Ukraine add new layers of complexity to the phenomenon of radicalisation and violent extremism?

Are there new emerging drivers that need to be considered?

In this discussion on 27 June (1pm-2pm) hosted by the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO), the H2020-funded projects CONNEKT, PAVE and PREVEX will shed some light on the results of their research on the drivers of radicalisation and violent extremism and share some reflections on the impact of war in Ukraine on both regions under analysis, the Middle East and North Africa and the Balkans.

Please note that this will be an in-person meeting. Seats are limited and registration is mandatory.

Please contact Lorenzo Conti if you would like to participate.
