The CONNEKT project is about to start investigating violent extremism processes at the individual level. In this stage, the research will not only focus on the point of view of personal values and beliefs, but it will also take into account processes of primary and secondary socialization that influence the individual. This key work will help to verify, discard, or refine patterns, contexts and drivers identified throughout the research conducted so far at the Macro and Meso level.
The first step of this new project’s phase will be the Methodological Lab the Moulay Ismail University is hosting on 26th May in Meknès (Morocco). All the members of the Consortium will contribute to the design of the questionnaires that will make up 8 national youth survey campaigns that will be later on launched. The results of these surveys are meant to be crucial to discern the weight that different factors related to intimate or broad social environments have in the individual dynamics that potentially lead to violent extremism.
Following the Lab, a public event at the University Moulay Ismail will be held on 27th May (10.30 am CEST) to present the CONNEKT project. Follow it LIVE on You Tube.
